Home-Based Hospice Care

TEACH is in the process of setting up care for those who are terminally ill.
A doctor needs to refer the patient to Hospice and continue supervising the medical care of that person.  Volunteering in the home, the Hospice worker may perform a variety of helpful services, such as:
            1) Staying with patient while primary caregiver is out
            2) Emotional support for patient, caregiver, or family
            3) Help with activities of daily living
            4) Companionship such as reading to patient or writing letters,
            5) Errands           
            6) Assistance with light housekeeping, organizing household bills
            7)  Transportation to medical appointments, outings
            8) Post-death sympathy call, support with grief group for family members
