Commodities

The Commodities Program (TEFAP) provides nutritious USDA foods to income-eligible individuals and families throughout Modoc County. The program helps supplement household food supplies by offering a monthly distribution of shelf-stable and nutritious food items.

The Commodities Program is designed to support households experiencing food insecurity while promoting access to healthy food for members of our community.

Distribution Schedule

Commodity food distribution is held on the fourth Thursday of each month.

Who May Qualify?

Eligibility is based on current income guidelines established by the program.

Eligible participants may receive:

  • A monthly distribution of USDA commodity foods
  • A variety of nutritious food items, based on product availability
  • Assistance with determining eligibility and completing required paperwork
