Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps eligible households reduce the burden of home energy costs by providing financial assistance for heating and cooling expenses. The program is designed to help families maintain safe, healthy, and comfortable homes throughout the year.

LIHEAP provides assistance to income-eligible households and gives priority to those with the greatest need, including households with older adults, individuals with disabilities, and families with young children.

Who May Qualify?

Eligibility is based on household income, household size, and current program guidelines. Priority is given to households with the greatest energy needs and those that include:

  • Older adults
  • Individuals with disabilities
  • Families with young children
